***Inclement Weather***
In the event of inclement weather, the model/float (TITANIC) ***WILL NOT be in parades, OR be on "outdoor exhibit"*** UNLESS the "model/float" can be unloaded, displayed and reloaded under "DRY" conditions! In the event that a fee was charged for an exhibit, we will keep "only half" of the fee to cover our expenses to and from the exhibit place and the other half of the fee will be returned. The exhibit CAN be re-scheduled.
However, if the "scheduled exhibit" is cancelled BEFORE the "delivery date", then the "entire fee" will be returned. We regret any inconvenience caused by last minute cancellations due to the "weather" OR "unforeseen" mechanical failure. ***Although the model/float is a ship, I can assure you it is NOT water-proof and has electrical components on board that can be severely damaged if exposed to water! We thank you for your interest in TITANIC and look forward to assisting in "special" events providing these above conditions and exceptions are understood and accepted.
Thank you Norm Lewis (-ship's builder-)
The TITANIC model/float will be in the following parades, fully detailed and with "operating whistles"!! These whistles are a "Digital Recording" of the actual whistles from Titanic. When the "whistles" were recovered during a salvage operation, they were refurbished and then blown for the first time, since the ship sank after hitting an iceberg, April 15th, 1912.
Fortunately, "Titanic-The Exhibition" had the foresight to "digitally record" the sound during the test-blowing of the whistles, before hanging the whistles in the museum for everyone to see and enjoy. Then a "complimentary" digital-copy of the sound was sent to us at CTS, to use in the "model/float" of TITANIC.
Enjoy, and have a great day!!-Norm
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> NEW:ELECTRIC Mini- "1914 Stutz Bearcat"
This year we are proud to introduce our brand new addition to the "Titanic float".
We have basically taken a "Shop Rider" (mobility scooter) and transformed it into a, TOTALLY ELECTRIC - "Mini-1914 Stutz Bearcat", thanks to the helping hands and sponsorship of, "McArthur Sports", and the, "Fanshawe College-Machine Shop"! SPECIAL thanks to the following:
Strip Art Signs: for ALL our signage
Cathcart Auto (Cathcart, ON.): Mr. Ron Liverance (1914 era hood clamps)
Mr. Dave Slote: for wiring the CTS trailers!
Mr. Terry Walker: for the re-wiring of the "Shop Rider" motor, in order to operate the "Stutz"!
McArthur Sports: Mr. Rick Boyko (tires and wheels)
Regional Auto Glass: Mr. Butch Day
Rick's Carpet (Simcoe): Rick (owner)
Fanshawe College: Mr. Tom Whitney (Machine Shop Director) : Mr. Paul Hobbs (Machine Shop Instructor) Advance Students: Mr. Dave Devrye : Mr. Paul Knight
and last, but not least, Norm's brother: Mr. George Lewis, for the decorative Eagles, for the Stutz!!
**For those of you who are not familiar with the, "Stutz Bearcat", it is a 1912 era "Sports car" which ran on gas, had a "monocle" windshield, and sold for $3,800.00, in 1914!
This Mini-Stutz Bearcat is fully operational on a 24 volt electrical system, and will be running in the upcoming parades, along with the Titanic model. We sincerely hope that you enjoy this NEW addition to the parades.
The Stutz will be available for static exhibits around the province. Thanks you and have a great parade season.
Sincerely Norm Lewis Canadian Titanic Society (Since 1998)
